If you are going to the regional division of History Fair, here is what you need to know.

Exhibit, performance, and documentary students must submit a Student Authorization Form (PDF) at the event.

PAPERS are due in the History Fair office by April 16. Please submit two sets and the Student Authorization Form.

WEBSITES are locked down for judging on April 17, 5pm. Please send the Student Authorization forms to the History Fair office.

Coaching Sessions

Interested students should contact Lisa Oppenheim (312-255-3661 or at loppenheim@chicagohistoryfair.org) to arrange a one-on-one coaching session with a Chicago Metro History Fair staff member at the Newberry Library. They have regular Wednesday afternoon office hours, but students should call at least a day in advance to be sure there are enough staff members available to coach.

Newberry Library, 60 W. Walton St.
By appointment only.
Alternate days and times may be requested.

Staff is willing to coach papers, websites, and documentaries through email and Skype too.

Every presentation method has different rules and guidelines to follow. PLEASE read the rules very carefully before submitting, and use the checklist for making sure you’ve followed them. We STRONGLY suggest that you view other examples of winning projects, so you make sure your project mimics them in style and content. Examples can be found here and below. If you have questions, please email Mindy or Neil.
